Welcome!
The symposium Perspectives on Protein Networks in Plants (PNP) will take place at the IBMP-CNRS institute located close to the city center of Strasbourg, a vibrant city in the heart of Europe.
Proteins carry out their functions within cells as part of protein complexes and molecular interaction networks. Consequently, deciphering of protein-protein interactions (PPI) constitutes a key level of analysis for understanding the molecular mechanisms. Recently, the emergence of new tools and technologies such as proximity labelling, cross-linking proteomics and computational predictions have enabled, with greater ease and lower cost, global and/or in-depth analyzes of protein networks in a wide diversity of organisms. Therefore, PNP intend to highlight the recent results in the labs and the potential perspectives of this fast evolving field covering protein networks in plants.
The symposium will be divided in 4 sessions, each session initiated by an internationally recognized expert in the field. Sessions 1 to 3 will be dedicated to feedback in plants with a first session focused on large-scale analyses, a second on structural aspects of inter and intra molecular interactions and a third session dedicated to emerging species and evolution. The last session (Session 4) will be dedicated to the most recent tools facilitating the analyzes of protein networks. We will therefore open the symposium to the participation of high-level international speakers on the analysis of protein networks by mass spectrometry, the use of new statistical tools and in silico predictions. With this opening, the symposium seeks to bring together a broad panel ranging from biology to chemistry, in order to encourage interdisciplinarity between participants.
Participants are invited to submit an abstract of their research work in relation to the topics covered by the symposium. Priority for the registration will be assigned to the participants presenting an abstract. We invite all the research comunity interested on PPIs, plant evolution and bioinformatics to participate in the symposium to create a space for the discussion of the current knowledge and perspectives of protein networks in plants.
